Facebook year in review - Hornet
Under the vision of the talented director Sam Mason, this project brought to life a series of surreal, lucid worlds to create a closing gallery for Facebook and its users. Each artist was entrusted with crafting unique environments, and I was responsible for three: a vibrant green meadow, a dreamlike realm of clouds and stairs, and a bustling city street.
For each environment, I took ownership of modeling, texturing, shading, look development, and lighting. Leveraging MASH procedural layout, I efficiently instanced grass and flowers to add depth and realism to the meadow, employed Houdini volume assets to create soft clouds for the dream world. With careful considered composition and lighting to guide the viewer’s eye as the camera moved through each scene.
This project was gratifying, knowing it would delight Facebook users as they saw their personal photos nestled within these beautifully crafted environments.
